Basic Sashiko Stitching

The basic stitch is the simplest stitch possible: the running stitch. .........but the variations of shapes and designs are endless! Once you learn the most basic principles you can design your own shapes to decorate garments etc or stitch  pre-printed items with traditional designs.

Schedule

Class is held on-line via zoom on Wednesdays. You may participate in either the morning class (10-11:30am) or in the evening (7-8:30pm) or a combination thereof. Please indicate when you sign up which schedule you prefer.

Materials list

I will refer to two books:
The Ultimate Sashiko Source Book by Susan Briscoe and
Simply Sashiko (Nihon Vogue, Tuttle Publishing Co 
Please come to first class with some mid weight cotton fabrics  embroidery needles, floss, ruler and fabric marker. I will show samples of easy beginners projects to complete in class and where to find supplies.
